2005 - Pictures below We woke up to a beautiful sunny day, with temps in the 70s. Perfect for the day we had planned. Our friends Rick and Sonija and their son who are living in Europe for a while, came to pick us up at our hotel and we went to a park called Keukenhof in Lisse. There are over 8 million bulbs there. It was breathtaking. We had a wonderful time visiting with them, and enjoyed the flowers too. The Queen loves orchids, so their was an orchid exhibit, which was amazing. The tulip bulbs were still in the ground, so they were not available for purchase yet - but you could order them, and they would ship them to you in Sept. or Oct. I did not get any, because they said by next year they hope to make them available online. They had a place where you could choose what bulbs you wanted from a book. We had a great day, and experienced a Magnum bar (similar to a Dove bar) thanks to Rick's suggestion...it made for a good lunch! Once we returned home, we had a nice dinner out and did more walking...ouch... Click on a Picture to see it larger... |
