Little Italy, NYC

Little Italy & Times Square Saturday night
New York City, March 2004 Carla & friend Joan

Try saying this "IN LITTLE ITALY". If you can say it, then say it over and over again in a conversation and let me know if you ever mess up

There are SO many restaurants here. It was hard to pick! We had dinner here Sat. night at Il Pallazzo. Very good. Zagat's #1 ranked restaurant in Little Italy.
ALSO - we 'ran into' my Father-in-law's neighbor lady here. Here, in Little Italy in New York!! We were shocked at the odds of that! She was visiting with her daughter and a friend.

Times Square - Sat. night - It was raining a bit

The clock is on our hotel sign, the Times Square Hilton. This is a great place to stay for location. There is a subway line about 3 doors down (on the same block) that has the "S" train - (for newbies, the line on the map is GREY - but New Yorkers don't go by colors). This train runs only to and from Grand Central to Times Square, just back and forth! Plus, Starbucks is right across the street. It would be better if it were on the same side, because jaywalking across would be risking your life, so you have to go to a corner to use the crosswalk.

Times Square

42nd Street in Times Square. We stayed right across the street. 42nd St sign can be seen in this picture - and it is the show we saw on Saturday night!

 Times Square

Marriott Marquis Theater. This is located in the Marriott Hotel. This is where we saw "Thoroughly Modern Millie" Friday night. We were in about row 12, Left Orchestra. Very good seats, I thought. They don't let you take pictures of the show - but I got one before it started.

Garment district - that's DKNY

View at night out our hotel window

Daytime view. Notice the terrace on top of that building!

Again, Garment District - this is DKNY (Donna Karan New York), you could see the dressmakers in the windows, the dressmaker forms, etc.
